Change startup tune and shutdown tune

 

 

Choose the track which you want to play at start-up and shutdown jingles,

Limitations are

* It should be in .WAV format.
* The size of file should not be large, prefer keeping them within in 1 Mb, otherwise your startup will take a bit longer.

Step 1

If the file you want to make your start-up or shutdown is not in .WAV format, you can easily convert them using Jet Audio 7, or any other converter.

Step 2.

Now rename these files as “Windows XP Startup.WAV” and “Windows XP Shutdown.WAV” respectively.

Step 3.

Now Go to “C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA”, here you will find files “Windows XP Startup.WAV” and “Windows XP Shutdown.WAV”, move them to some other locations, this step is required for, in case you need to revert back these sounds, else you can ignore this step.

Step 4.

Now the files you have chosen and renamed, just copy-paste or cut paste them in “C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA”, here you go, now you can enjoy the new Start-up and shutdown.

Extreme Hack - Install Windows Xp in 10 minutes

STEP1 : After the Copy Part is Over ... System is Rebooted as we all know In general Foramatting Procedure...
Now After Reboot The Below Image Will Appear....

STEP 2: Now As This Image APPEARS You Have to Press  "Shift + F10 "  . This Will Open The command Prompt...  Now type  taskmgr  in it. This will open the Task manager .

STEP 3 : After The task Manager Opens Goto Processes ... And Find "Setup.exe"  process and Right CLICK on It.... and set the Priority to Highest....

STEP 4: Now Just Watch the Set It will take around 9 minutes and 2 minutes for Tolerance(depends System to system)....

Know when your computer is last shut down

Problem – You have told your kid that he should not play on the computer till late at night. He should shut it down at 11 and then study since exams are near. He assures you that he will do that and next morning tells you that he did that.

How do you find out if he actually did that ?

If you want to know what was the exact last shutdown time of your computer, then you can find that out using a simple trick. You’d need to go to the Event Viewer in Windows to get that information.

Here are the steps.

Step1. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click the start icon and type Event Viewer in the search box. Event viewer program will appear. Click on it.

If you are a Windows XP user, Go to Start> Run. Type eventvwr.msc and click OK button.

Step 2. Event Viewer window will open. Now on the left side of that window click on  “Windows Logs”. Now on the right side, click on System.

Step 3. All the system files will open on the right side. Now on the source column you have to find out Eventlog source having Event ID 6006 (6006 is an event ID for shutdown). You will find many Eventlog sources having event ID 6006. But you need to figure out source with the most recent date and time.

Note: All the events are placed in descending order (latest time first) so the top event log with event ID 6006 will show the correct time and date of last PC shutdown (In this case the time is 1/10/2010 1:06:48 AM).

So the last shut down time of my PC is 1/10/2010 1:06:48 AM.

That’s how you can easily find out when exactly was your computer last shut down.

It becomes a tedious task when you want to login to any windows administrator and it is protected by Administrator password. So, you are blocked from making any changes to computer or installing any software. At such times, it is necessary to hack / reset Windows administrator password. So, I am writing a simple trick to hack/reset Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 administrator password to help you login to any computer protected by Windows administrator password.

Hack/Reset Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 Administrator password:

Windows Key is popular windows password recovery software used to reset windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 administrator password. Simply, boot the system using Windows Key bootable CD or flash drive and you're able to reset windows administrator password.

1. Free Download Windows Key software to reset windows administrator password.

2. The downloaded folder contains image file. Burn it to disc using any image burner software say Nero.

3. Now, when burning process is finished, you have bootable disc ready to hack/reset windows administrator password.

4. Restart your computer and boot via CD/DVD just created. Windows Key will start loading its files and show its interface like this:

5. Windows key will ask you to select the Operating system, account of which you wanna reset administrator password. You have to enter 1, 2 or such numbers corrresponding to your choice.

6. Finally, Windows key will display message "Password has been reset". Now, press any key and computer will be restarted and now, you will be able to login to administrator account without any password. So, Windows key has removed or reset windowsadministrator password helping you to loging without any password.

Unique Windows XP Secrets/Hacks - Xtreme Collection

1. Useful key shortcuts available:

- Windows key + D - shows the desktop

2. Lock Windows to protect computer


You can lock Windows to protect the computer when leaving the station easily by creating a shortcut with the path rundll32.exeuser32.dll, LockWorkStation. The Windows key + L is also a shortcut to this feature.

3. Edit sysoc.inf to list all software

To show all software that can be removed from your computer (including protected Windows services), you can manually edit (using notepad for example) the sysoc.inf file located in Windows\inf\. Just remove the word hide next to the software pack.
*Note* - use this at your own risk. Removing critical components of the system will make Windows instable.

4. Windows XP comes with IPv4 and IPv6

Windows XP comes both IPv4 and IPv6 support. To enable IPv6, you can install the protocols needed with the command "ipv6 install" in the command-prompt. Then type ipv6 /? to see the options. The installation will not remove the IPv4 protocols so your current configuration will still work.



5. Access Task Manager with shortcut

To access the Task Manager easier, you can make a shortcut that points to %windir%\system32\taskmgr.exe.



6. Stop treating ZIP files like Folders

If you don't want your Windows XP to treat ZIP files like folders, you can disable this component by running regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll at the command prompt or Run dialog. If you start missing it, you can enable it by typing regsvr32 zipfldr.dll.





7. Run program as diffrent user

You can run a program as a different user. Right click an application and select Run As command.



8. Switch users leaving applications opened


You can switch users leaving the applications opened too (*NOTE* use this only when needed since it could lead to system instability).

Go to Task Manager - processes and end the process explorer.exe. 
This will end only your session and not all applications. 
Then go to Applications tab, click New task and type runas /user:Domainname\username explorer.exe. A password prompt will appear to login to the desired username. The user's session will start, with all your previously applications running.
I recommend to open first a command-line prompt and type runas /? to see all the options available.



9. Rename multiple files in Windows at once

Rename multiple files in Windows at once. Select them all, right click and select Rename. Enter the desired name. They will be renamed using what you specified, with a number in brackets to distinguish them.



10. Task kill feature in Windows

Windows has a task kill feature similar to Linux. Go to a command prompt and run the command tasklist to see running processes with PID numbers. Then type tskill
to end the specific task. This forces an instant closing of the task.



11. Edit features with GPEDIT.MSC

You can edit many features by running gpedit.msc. You can add log on/log off scripts here and many features.



12. Edit accounts in the command prompt

You can edit accounts by running "control userpasswords2" at the command prompt.

Create a font from your own handwriting

things you need

 you can create a font from your very own handwriting. There's no software to download and install, all you need is a printer and a scanner. Simply fill in the font template, scan and upload it to our website, and download your completed font. The fonts you create using fontcapture.com can be used on both Windows and Mac computers.

The first step is to download and print the font template. It's in PDF format, so you'll need a PDF reader like Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader to open it.

Print the file

Complete the font template

After printing the font template, it's time to fill it in with your ownhandwriting. For best results it's recommended to use a black marker pen (Sharpie or similar). Make sure to leave a margin around each character.

Each character box has a set of guide marks to help you position the character. The middle one is called the baseline, and is the line on which a letter usually sits. Some letters, such as 'g' or 'q', descend to the descender line. Uppercase letters typically have their highest point on the ascender. It's okay for accents to reach slightly above the ascender, but if you go too far you risk having your characters cut off. It's therefore recommended to keep your characters within the ascender and descender portion of the boxes.

Upload your completed font template

After completing the font template, it's time to scan it. Here's a few tips on how to achieve good results:

• Set your scanner to operate in grayscale or color mode at 200 DPI or higher.
• Save the scanned image in PNG (preferred) or JPG format.
• Make sure you don't scan the template upside down. If you do, rotate the image 180 degrees using an image editor.
